HC Deb 18 February 1976 vol 905 c714W
Mr. Greville Janner

asked the Secretary of State for the Environment how many prosecutions have been brought during each of the last five years for which records are available against owners and drivers of motor vehicles, respectively, arising out of the worn condition of tyres; how many and what percentage of such prosecutions have proved successful; and what penalties were applied.

Dr. Summerskill

I have been asked to reply.

The available information for prosecutions in England and Wales for offences related to defective tyres is given in the following table. Separate information in respect of owners and drivers is not available.
