§ Mr. Wallasked the Minister for Overseas Development if he will make it his policy that future aid to Ethiopia be conditional upon the release or trial of 17 members of the Royal Family now held in prison.
§ Mr. PrenticeThe policy governing my Ministry's aid programme to Ethiopia, as to other countries, is kept under regular review. I am satisfied that it would not be in the best interests either of the imprisoned members of the Royal Family, or of Ethiopia itself, to make our future aid conditional upon the release or trial of those prisoners.
