§ Mrs. Knightasked the Minister of Agriculture, Fisheries and Food whether he will consider the possibility of making additional funds for rentals for space in the new Birmingham Market available under the Agriculture and Horticulture Act 1964.
§ Mr. StrangSection 10 of the Agriculture and Horticulture Act 1964 provides for grant of a maximum of one-third of the eligible capital expenditure on providing a new wholesale horticultural market. The City of Birmingham District Council is already receiving the statutory maximum and my right hon. Friend cannot undertake to promote amending legislation. We did however further the Council's application for FEOGA grant which is now in course of payment.
