Capital Write-offs
Capital debts have been written off as follows:
- Transport Act 1962—£487 million.
- Transport Act 1968—£1,262 million.
- Railways Act 1974—£189 million.
The 1962 Act figure relates to the capital debt of the British Transport Commission and is not wholly attributable to the railways.
