HC Deb 11 February 1976 vol 905 c240W
Mr. Goodhart

asked the Minister for the Civil Service what guidance is being given to civil servants about the use of Concorde when flying to destinations where that service is available.

Mr. Charles R. Morris

The majority of civil servants are expected to travel economy class by air. My Department will shortly be issuing instructions that, except in the case of officials required to accompany Ministers, the use of Concorde is to be restricted to journeys by senior civil servants where the extra cost would be decisively outweighed by the saving in official time.
