asked the Secretary of State for Social Services if she will make provisions for an increase of 20 per cent. in the rate of unemployment benefit for every increase of 50,000 in the numbers of unemployed from 1st March.

Mr. O'Malley

No. It would not be acceptable from the social standpoint to make the rate of unemployment benefit in England was not obtained prior to 1975 and the figures for 1975 will not be available until midsummer. Information under the other heads is not available for the years before 1962. The remaining information is as follows:
