asked the Secretary of State for the Environment what are the number of passenger railway stations and the number of goods depots closed since 1960.

Dr. Gilbert

British Rail says that 2,548 passenger stations were closed up to the end of 1974, while 26 were opened or reopened. Over the period the number of goods depots was reduced by about 5,100.
