HC Deb 09 February 1976 vol 905 cc41-2W
Mr. Dykes

asked the Secretary of State for Trade when he anticipates that the United Kingdom policyholders of Fidelity Life Assurance Limited will receive their claims.

Mr. Clinton Davis

The court on 6th February 1976 gave leave to the Official Receiver as provisional liquidator of the company to make payments on account to certain policyholders against an indemnity from the Policyholders Protection Board. He hopes within a few days to send a form of undertaking for signature and return by those policyholders, mainly annuitants and claimants under life policies, and he will then, subject to the obtaining of a waiver from the parent company and agreeing the tax claim, he in a position to make payment.
