§ Mr. Hattonasked the Secretary of State for Energy if he will bring forward legislation to enable local housing authorities which are dissatisfied with the rising costs of heating residential properties by electricity to provide their own service by making use of power stations which are due for closure or partial shut-down; and what representations he has received in this regard.
§ Mr. EadieMy right hon. Friend has received no representations in this regard. He will, however, be considering the powers of local authorities to generate electricity in the context of the review of the electricity supply acts which is now under way.
