HC Deb 09 February 1976 vol 905 c5W
Mr. Mike Thomas

asked the Secretary of State for Energy when he proposes to reply to the letter sent to him on 24th December by the Right to Fuel Campaign regarding disconnections of electricity supply to the old, infirm and poor consumer; and whether he will now agree to the meeting on this subject requested therein;

Mr. Rooker

asked the Secretary of State for Energy if he has yet replied to the letter dated 24th December 1975 from the British Association of Settlements regarding the Right to Fuel Campaign; and, if so, what was the substance of his reply.

Mr. Benn

I have now replied to this letter. I met the representatives of this campaign with other voluntary organisations on 16th January, when all aspects of the problem of fuel debts were raised. It was proposed then that we should meet again when those present had completed further studies. I am ready to consider further proposals.
