§ Mr. Shersbyasked the Secretary of State for the Environment if, in the light of the delay in reaching a compensation agreement, in the case of Essential Autos Ltd., at Cow Roast, Tring, Hertfordshire, and Hertfordshire County Council, arising from his decision on 6th November 1971 to confirm a discontinuance order on land and premises owned by the company, he will attach conditions regarding prompt payment to the confirmation of such orders.
§ Mr. OakesNo. My right hon. Friend has no power to attach conditions regarding prompt payment of compensation to his confirmation of a discontinuance order made by a local authority.
