§ Mr. Gwynfor Evansasked the Minister of Agriculture, Fisheries and Food whether agriculture in the counties of Great Britain has in the recent past been affected by permanent weather changes; what advice he has received that agriculture will have to cope with climatic changes in the foreseeable future; and if he will make a statement.
§ Mr. StrangThere is no evidence that recent weather changes in Great Britain are any different from those experienced over this century. Farmers are well accustomed to adjusting their activities and plans to meet changes in weather patterns from year to year and I have no doubt that this adaptability will enable them to cope in the future.
