§ Mr. John FraserIn the Thorne employment office area, the estimated total number of employees, employed or unemployed, at June 1973, the latest date for which comprehensive figures are available, was 9,257. Estimates are not available separately for adults. At 557W January 1976, 1,398 people were unemployed. Rates of unemployment can be calculated only for the whole of the Doncaster travel-to-work area, which includes Thorne. At January 1976 the rate was 6.9 per cent.
