§ Mr. MeacherThe supplementary benefit scale rates, which are intended to cover normal expenditure on fuel, were increased in November last. Extra heating additions, awarded where there are exceptional circumstances, were also increased at the same time by 37 per cent. These additions are kept under review by the Supplementary Benefits Commission.
