HC Deb 03 February 1976 vol 904 c566W
Sir P. Bryan

asked the Secretary of State for the Environment what sums have been received in building grants under the Local Employment Act 1972 by Scotland and the Yorkshire and Humberside Region, respectively.

Mr. Mackenzie

I have been asked to reply.

The value of building grants under the Local Employment Acts 1960–72 offered to companies in Scotland and in the Yorkshire and Humberside Region is £82.9 million and £9.5 million respectively. For the greater part of the period during which applications could be made much of the Yorkshire and Humberside Region was neither a development area nor an intermediate area and, therefore, was not eligible for building grants.
