HC Deb 02 February 1976 vol 904 c505W
Mr. Reid

asked the Secretary of State for Scotland whether it is his policy to ask the Registrar-General for Scotland to initiate a feasibility study into whether the electoral registration canvass should be extended to include questions on the age, sex and marital status of all residents in a household.

Mr. William Ross

To ensure that circumstances in Scotland are taken into account the Registrar-General for Scotland will participate in the feasibility studies announced by my hon. Friend the Minister of State, Department of Health and Social Security, on 22nd January 1976.—[Vol. 903, c.561]—These studies will investigate the topics on which it may be possible to obtain statistical information from enhancement of the electoral registration canvass.
