§ Mr. Ralph Howellasked the Secretary of State for Social Services if she will express the family allowance payments for a two, three and four child family as a percentage of average net earnings in October 1975.
§ Mr. O'MalleyFamily allowances payments expressed as a percentage of net average earnings (1) of male, adult, full-time manual workers (2) are:
Two-child family 3.2 per cent Three-child family 6.1 per cent Four-child family 8.8 per cent
- Note.—(1) Gross earnings plus family allowance, less tax and national insurance contributions.
- (2) Estimated earnings of male, adult, full-time manual workers based on the Department of Employment's October inquiry into the earnings of manual workers employed in manufacturing and certain other industries.
