HC Deb 02 February 1976 vol 904 c415W
Mr. Skeet

asked the Secretary of State for the Environment what are the rates leviable on Crown Property and the Palace of Westminster; and alternatively what is the sum payable in lieu of rates.

Mr. Denzil Davies

I have been asked to reply.

Crown property is not rateable, but a contribution is made in lieu of rates. In the case of the Palace of Westminster the amount paid in 1975–76 was approximately £393,000.
