HC Deb 02 February 1976 vol 904 cc480-1W
Sir George Young

asked the Secretary of State for Social Services if she will make a statement on the future of Acton Hospital.

Dr. Owen

There has been no suggestion that Acton Hospital should be closed. But, as part of its planning for the development of comprehensive health care facilities in the North Hammersmith District, the Ealing, Hammersmith and Hounslow Area Health Authority (Teaching) is considering whether the hospital should cease to provide services more appropriate to a district general hospital and become a community hospital. Local consultation on the possibilities has recently begun. It will be some time before any decision could be taken.
