§ Mr. Newensasked the Secretary of State for the Home Department if he will give instructions that no facilities should be provided in future in connection with police training for trainees to listen to lecturers or be supplied with literature from the Institute for the Study of Conflict.
§ Mr. Merlyn ReesAs far as I know, the only contribution to police training made by the Institute for the Study of Conflict is one lecture a term on urban terrorism at the Police College, Bramshill. Courses at the college cover a wide range of subjects and enable those attending them to hear a variety of views, and I share my predecessor's reluctance—which he expressed in his reply to a Question by my hon. Friend the Member for Manchester, 271W Blackley (Mr. Rose) on 1st April last—to interfere with this particular arrangement.—[Vol. 90, c. 553.]
