Mr. Spearing

asked the Lord President of the Council if he will tabulate in the Official Report the annual totals of Statutory Instruments laid on the Table of the House for each year from 1970 to 1976, and for each year show the numbers of Instruments: of local and national effect, subject to the negative and affirmative procedures examined by the Select Committee for scrutiny and the numbers of Instruments which they drew to the attention of the House and the numbers of Instruments whose merits were considered by standing Committee.
