§ Mr. Gowasked the Secretary of State for Defence how many members of the Armed Forces or others are currently entitled to the additional daily payment of 50p as a result of service in Northern Ireland.
§ Mr. DuffyA total of 14,245 members of the Armed Forces are currently receiving additional pay for service in Northern Ireland. Of these 905 are members of the Royal Navy or Royal Marines, 12,482 are in the Army, and 858 are in the Royal Air Force. No other Ministry of Defence employees are eligible for such payments.
