§ Mr. Nicholas Wintertonasked the Secretary of State for the Environment if he will make a statement on the current situation relating to the EEC Draft Directive on Water Pollution by Pulp Mills.
§ Mr. Denis HowellThe main issues raised by the draft directive were discussed by Environment Ministers at the Council on 9th December, but it proved impossible to reach agreement on them. It was agreed that the draft directive should be considered further at official level.
