§ Mr. Peter Bottomleyasked the Secretary of State for Social Services if he will estimate the number of occupational pensioners who, after the provisions of the Social Security (Miscellaneous Provisions) Bill are implemented, will be eligible to draw supplementary benefit.
§ Mr. OrmeSince the Bill provides that unemployment benefit will be reduced only by the excess of occupational pension over £25 a week, it will be very exceptional for a person to become entitled to supplementary benefit as a result.
