§ Mr. Sillarsasked the Secretary of State for Energy what has been the value of total sales of natural gas drawn from the English sector of the North Sea in the past 12 months; what was the total charge made to Scottish consumers; and what percentage this represents of total sales.
§ Dr. J. Dickson MabonAll natural gas from the United Kingdom sector of the North Sea so far sold by the British Gas Corporation has come from the Southern Basin. In 1975–76 such sales totalled £1,200 million, of which Scotland accounted for £48 million—4 per cent. In addition, approximately £2 million worth of town gas sold in Scotland was reformed natural gas.
