HC Deb 13 December 1976 vol 922 cc554-5W
Mr. Carson

asked the Secretary of State for Northern Ireland how many people were charged and found guilty as a result of the anti-internment demonstrations in August 1976.

Mr. Mason

136 persons were charged with offences arising out of disturbances during the anniversary of the introduction of internment. The number subsequently convicted could not be established without disproportionate effort.
