HC Deb 13 December 1976 vol 922 c500W
Mr. David Hunt

asked the Secretary of State for Social Services what procedures exist to control the expenditure of the Office of Population Censuses and Surveys; and what was the estimated total cost to public funds of the Office in 1976–77.

Mr. Moyle

The net Vote of the Office of Population Censuses and Surveys for 1976–77 is £8,260,000, as shown in the Supply Estimates Class XIII, 15; it is administered by the Director and Registrar General, who is the accounting officer for the Department. The total financial manpower resources of the Office of Population Censuses and Surveys are controlled by the Treasury and the Civil Service Department through the normal Estimates, PESC, and cash limits procedures.
