Mr. Palmer

asked the Lord President of the Council if he will list the objections to the application of the Council of Engineering Institutions for a revised Royal Charter; and what steps he is taking for these objections to be heard.

Objections on general grounds have been received from the Society of Engineers and on some specific points from one individual chartered engineer. In accordance with the usual practice, these objections have been referred to the Council of Engineering Institutions for comments before the whole matter is considered by the Privy Council.
