HC Deb 13 December 1976 vol 922 c543W
Mr. Sillars

asked the Chancellor of the Exchequer what is his estimate of the value of the total volume of business undertaken by the advertising industry; and what is his tax yield from this industry in a full year.

Mr. Robert Sheldon

The latest available estimate of the volume of advertising business is £967 million for 1975. It is not possible to give an estimate of the tax revenue deriving from advertising, since the revenue Department's records do not separately identify this sector.
