Dickson MahonIt is not possible to forecast precisely which fields will be in production in 1980–84, apart from the existing commercial fields on which details are available in the Appenrix 2 of the 1976 Brown Book. The Brown Book forecast of the likely level of total United Kingdom oil production in the early 1980s is based on a general appreciation of all possible new field developments and not on a prediction as to which will come on stream by then.
