asked the Secretary of State for Social Services whether he has received the report of the Child Poverty Action Group which considers that Merseyside has more poor families than most parts of the United Kingdom; and if he will take action to deal with the situation.

No. I am afraid that we have not been able to identify the report referred to. My hon. Friend knows, of course, that both the rates and conditions for cash support benefits administered by my Department are the same for all areas of the country.
