§ Mr. Ralph Howellasked the Chancellor of the Exchequer if he will compare the weekly value of tax allowance, assuming in each case that tax is paid at the standard rate, in the following circumstances. (a) for two single adults living in the same house, (b) for a married couple with no children where the wife is also earning, and (c) for a married couple with one child aged five years where the wife is not earning.
