§ 51. Mr. Shersbyasked the Secretary of State for the Environment if he will take steps to ensure that appropriate action is taken by local authorities to protect the rights of owners of land or premises in cases where planning applications are deferred because a local authority decides that the site is either subject to a resolution to acquire by compulsory purchase 225W or may subsequently become subject to such a resolution.
§ Mr. Guy BarnettA planning application not determined within eight weeks by a local planning authority is deemed to be refused and there is a right of appeal to the Secretary of State. I have written to the hon. Member about the particular case which he raised.
