Dr. Hampson

asked the Secretary of State for Employment for each of the action committee areas: (a) how many applications for projects under the various job creation schemes have been approved and how many rejected (b) how many young people have benefited, and what percentage they are of the total of unemployed young people in each area, and (c) what has been the total cost.

Mr. Golding

I am informed by the Manpower Services Commission that the number of projects approved up to 2nd December are as in Table 1, which also shows the total grant, the number of projects rejected or withdrawn, and the estimated number of jobs which will be filled by people under 25.

The latest available information on the number of people under 25 unemployed is for July 1976. This is on a regional
