§ Mr. Terry Walkerasked the Lord President of the Council whether he plans to follow the precedent of the Silver Jubilee of King George V, and recommend the holding of a Thanksgiving Service as part of the House's celebrations of the Silver Jubilee of Her Majesty the Queen in 1977.
§ Mr. FootThe Silver Jubilee of Her Majesty the Queen will be marked by the presentation of Addresses to Her Majesty by both Houses of Parliament on 4th May 1977. There will be a national Service of Thanksgiving at St. Paul's Cathedral on 7th June 1977. It was the equivalent of this service that both Houses of Parliament attended in 1935 to mark the Silver Jubilee of King George V.
