HC Deb 07 December 1976 vol 922 cc151-2W
Mr. Woof

asked the Secretary of State for Industry whether the Commission of the EEC has in any way discussed or questioned Great Britain's system of national aids to British industry since the signing of the Treaty of Accession.

Mr. Alan Williams,

pursuant to his reply [Official Report, 6th December 1976; Vol. 922, c. 50] gave the following information:

Article 93 of the Treaty of Rome requires the Commission, in co-operation with member States, to keep under review all systems of aid. Discussions have accordingly taken place as and when necessary to enable this requirement to be observed.
