§ Mr. Bodyasked the Secretary of State for Foreign and Commonwealth Affairs what legislative changes are still necessary in each of the other eight countries 119W in the EEC to enable direct elections to the European Assembly to take place in 1978.
§ Mr. TomlinsonIt will be for each of the member Governments of the European Economic Community to decide how to implement their expressed intention of enabling direct elections to take place in May or June 1978. I understand that legislative proposals have still to be introduced in the respective Parliaments.
