§ Mr. Kilroy-Silkasked the Secretary of State for Social Services if he will make a statement on his meeting with representatives of local authority associations on 29th November to discuss the Children and Young Persons Act 1969.
§ Mr. MoyleAs part of the consultations with national bodies promised on a number of proposals in the White Paper on the Children and Young Persons Act 1969 (Cmnd. 6494) my right hon. Friend162W the Secretary of State for the Home Department and my hon. Friend the Under-Secretary of State for Education and Science and I had a useful meeting with representatives of the Association of County Councils and Association of Metropolitan Authorities. Among the subjects we discussed were the national and local consultative arrangements referred to in the White Paper, the provision of secure accommodation arrangements for ending the remand of 14-year-old girls, and arrangements for improving the effectiveness of supervision orders.
