BrownThese statistics are not collected centrally, but a recent survey showed that about half the public sector houses approved by my Department in 1975 were constructed with integral flues. The Scottish Housing Handbook specifies the minimum standard of space heating and gives design guidance on heating arrangements in public sector houses. The choice of heating systems is a matter for the authority concerned.
