§ 22. Mr. Wallasked the Secretary of State for Foreign and Commonwealth Affairs if he will make a statement on the 220W EEC's negotiations with Iceland over fishing limits.
§ Mr. LuardA copy of the statement which my right hon. Friend made on 26th of November has been placed in the Library. Although the Commission has been unable to secure an agreement on uninterrupted British fishing after 1st December, Commissioner Gundelach has agreed with the Icelandic Government that negotiations on a long-term fisheries agreement with the Community will begin in mid-December. We much regret the interruption in United Kingdom fishing off Iceland. But we are hopeful that it will be brief.
