HC Deb 01 December 1976 vol 921 cc189-90W
Mr. Welsh

asked the Secretary of State for Scotland what consultations he has had with the Noise Advisory Council on the problem of noise levels in Scottish cities; and if he will take steps to introduce "Quiet Town" experiments in Scotland.

Mr. McElhone

The work of the Noise Advisory Council on noise levels and the results of experiments in this field are relevant in appropriate circumstances throughout Great Briain. My right hon. Friend will watch this with interest, but he sees no need to mount separate experiments in Scotland at present.
