HC Deb 06 August 1976 vol 916 cc1083-4W
Mr. Cryer

asked the Attorney-General whether he will make it his policy, in making recommendations for judicial appointments, to have regard to the educational qualifications of the appointees.

The Solicitor-General

My noble Friend has regard to all relevant considerations in making his recommendations for judicial appointments.

Mr. Cryer

asked the Attorney-General if he will publish in theOfficial Report a list, together with their qualifications and tenure of office, of the Law Lords, county court judges, High Court judges, Crown Court judges, Appeal Court judges and recorders.

The Solicitor-General

There are more than 700 people in the categories to which my hon. Friend refers and it would not be practicable to publish in theOfficial Report the particulars for which he asks. The relevant information about all full-time holders of judicial office is published in the usual reference books.
