HC Deb 04 August 1976 vol 916 c796W
Mr. Ronald Atkins

asked the Secretary of State for Industry whether he will make a statement about the terms of credit available for the purchase of new ships in the United Kingdom.

Mr. Kaufman

Under the EEC shipbuilding directive, credit terms for both home and export sales are in accordance with the internationally agreed conditions laid down in the OECD Understanding on Export Credits for Ships of 18th July 1974. There are no proposals at present being considered in the OECD for amending the terms of the understanding.
