HC Deb 04 August 1976 vol 916 cc896-7W
Mr. Dempsey

asked the Secretary of State for the Environment whether he will take steps to improve the accommodation of the Glasgow offices for the payment of road fund licences.

Mr. Freeson

It is intended to rehouse from 109–113 Bothwell Street that part of the office which deals with Excise licences for vehicles whose records have been centralised at Swansea. This will free more space, particularly at the counter, for the remainder of the office which deals with vehicle records not yet centralised. Accommodation has been earmarked and every effort will be made to have it ready for occupation as quickly as possible. In the meantime the taxation office has been given the temporary use of rooms in an adjacent office to help relieve the pressure.
