HC Deb 04 August 1976 vol 916 c851W
Mr. Nicholas Winterton

asked the Secretary of State for Social Services if there were any projects under consideration by his Department for the Macclesfield constituency which have been affected by the Government's spending cuts.

Dr. Owen

The reduction in NHS capital spending in 1977–78 is not expected to lead to any over-commitment of resources in that year if regional health authorities' proposed capital programmes for 1976–77, including the new major starts, are implemented. Regional health authorities' financial allocations for 1977–78 will be assessed later this financial year when I have considered the recommendations of the Resource Allocation Working Party whose final report is expected later this summer.
