HC Deb 04 August 1976 vol 916 c898W
Mr. Stephen Ross

asked the Secretary of State for the Environment when he expects to receive from the Local Government Boundary Commission for England and Wales its recommendations for new ward boundaries in each of the inner London boroughs.

Dr. Summerskill

I have been asked to reply.

The Local Government Boundary Commission for England is currently conducting reviews of the electoral arrangements for all the London boroughs. I understand that it hopes to submit its final proposals by April 1977.

Mr. Stephen Ross

asked the Secretary of State for the Environment how many representations have been received by the Local Government Boundary Commission objecting to the proposed alteration of wards in the London borough of Tower Hamlets; and what consideration is being given to their views.

Dr. Summerskill

I have been asked to reply.

I understand that the Local Government Boundary Commission for England has received three representations about the future electoral arrangements for Tower Hamlets. The commission will consider these in due course.
