HC Deb 04 August 1976 vol 916 c881W
Mr. Biggs-Davison

asked the Secretary of State for the Environment, in view of the fact that the Conservators of Epping Forest spent about £20,000 a year on removing about 300 tons of bulk litter a year and that the dumping of rubbish of all kinds to the ruin of amenities and danger to children and animals is widespread, if he will make a statement on what is being done to enlist public support against this practice.

Mr. Denis Howell

The Government gives substantial support to the Keep Britain Tidy Group in their campaign against litter, but I fear that this is not a problem which we can hope to solve quickly.
