HC Deb 03 August 1976 vol 916 c763W
Mr. Brotherton

asked the Secretary of State for Employment whether it is the practice of his Department to pay unemployment benefit to claimants for periods when they are on holiday.

Mr. John Grant

Provided the holiday is not a paid, customary or recognised holiday a claimant on holiday can receive unemployment benefit if he satisfies all the conditions for its receipt and in particular the condition that he is available for employment at all times.
