HC Deb 03 August 1976 vol 916 c744W
Mr. Biggs-Davison

asked the Secretary of State for Northern Ireland what recent representations have been received from the Northern Ireland Committee of the Irish Council of Trades Unions regarding consultations with Government and the committee's position in the Northern Ireland Economic Council; and what reply has been made.

Mr. Merlyn Rees

I have recently received a letter from the Northern Ireland Committee of the Irish Congress of Trades Unions concerning the general question of consultation with Northern Ireland Departments and the particular question of the functions of the Northern Ireland Economic Council. I have arranged to meet representatives of the committee next week to discuss these matters.
