asked the Secretary of State for Northern Ireland (1) if he will publish in theOfficial Report figures showing the total number of shooting incidents, and the number involving the security forces, which occurred in Londonderry, Belfast, and other areas,

(2) if he will publish in theOfficial Report figures showing the total number of explosions, which have occurred in Londonderry, Belfast, and other areas, respectively, for each month since 1st January 1973;

(3) if he will publish in theOfficial Report figures showing the number of injuries there have been to members of the UDR, Army, police and civilians in Londonderry, Belfast, and other areas, respectively, for each month since 1st January 1973 arising out of the security situation;

(4) if he will publish in theOfficial Report figures showing the total number of assassinations which have occurred in Londonderry, Belfast, and other areas, respectively, for each month since 1st January 1973;

(5) if he will publish in theOfficial Report figures showing the number of deaths there have been of UDR, army, police and civilians in Londonderry, Belfast, and other areas, respectively, for each month since 1st January 1973.

,pursuant to his reply [Official Report, 22nd July 1976; Vol. 915, c.609–10],gave the following information:

The following are the monthly figures in respect of shooting incidents, explosions, army and UDR deaths, police deaths, and civilian deaths (including interfactional asassinations). Monthly figures for persons injured divided geographically could not be provided without disproportionate effort. Quarterly figures showing the number of persons injured in Northern Ireland as a whole have been placed in the Library of the House as part of the quarterly statistics on security. The latest figures were printed in theOfficial Report on 23rd July in answer to a Question by the right hon. Member for Down, South (Mr. Powell).—[Vol. 915, c.644–9.]
